Help- I deleted something and now my computer's messed up!

Hello,
I deleted something from my computer (by mistake). I think it was
something with the ATI program. Now my desktop is all stretched out.
Before, my screen resolution was 1280 x 800, now the highest it will
let me set it at is 1024 x 768. Things look stretched out and blurry.
Is there something I could download?
 
if you think it is ATI stuff you deleted, just download new drivers and install them.

I tried - I thought I downloaded a new driver, but when I try to
install it, it goes thru the whole process, and then I get a pop-up
message " Severe: Set-up did not find a driver compatible with your
current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit."
I dont know what else to download.
 
Click the Start orb, type "system restore" in the Start/Search box and hit
Enter. (almost any program can be found or run this way)

Follow the instructions to find and select a restore point.

sounds like you did not download the proper drivers.
