HELP i am unable to download a thing from the net!

For a few weeks my laptop has been unable to download anything from the net,
i go through the download process and then nothing happens at all, no error
messeges no nothing, nothing appears?
i have checked memory space and have plenty, i have no idea what to do or
what to look for PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!
 
You go through the process and nothing happens??????
Do you run/open it/ save it?

Save the download to the Desktop, and see what happens.
Or select/make a folder in YOUR documents(calling it what the download name
is), and save it to there.
