Help , I am lost !

I recently bought a new Toshiba laptop, which has Microsoft Media Center Edition, a Toshiba TV Tuner and Windows Movie Maker. I was under the impression that one could attach the tv tuner and import video into the computer. I was wrong. Whenever I try, I get a range of error messages such as the device is being used by another application or can not detect a device. So capturing the video signal doesnt seem to work.

Is what I am trying to acheive possible?

Is the tv tuner an appropriate "capture"device? If so why cant I get it to work?

If it is not appropriate, what is?

Any information, even what you may consider trivial, would be appreciated.

I have a Toshiba laptop with MCE on it also... see the Importing Source
Files > Video > Recorded TV page of www.papajohn.org

I can't capture directly from the TV tuner to MM2.
