If you format the drive there won't be anything on it. If you don't have
everything you need to reinstall, it's probably not wise to wipe it all off.

You could burn your data to CDs to save it, but programs and drivers would
have to be reinstalled.

Change your Bios setup to boot from the XP cd and follow the prompts.

Ok, So how do I change my Bios set up?
I did all this one time or at least I thought I did it and it didnt
really reformat my PC, it just reinstalled the XP. So how do I reformat?

the only way to format your CPU is with a hammer or a blow torch.

What you REALLY mean, is "How do I format my Hard Disk".

How you enter the BIOS Setup utility varies with the different brands of
computers. Some you press the Delete key, some press the F1 key, and
others you press the ESC key. So the best recommendation would be to
refer to the documentation that came with your PC, or go to their web site.
