Hi,

I would like to create a rewritable, bootable CD that contains an
anti-virus program like Norton and can be updated with the latest
virus definitions.

What I would like to be able to do is boot from that CD and check a
system for any infection. Any ideas out there?

Thanks

Unless you can find a way to include CD Writing software a TCP/IP app
and FTP client, setting all to run automatically it isn't going to
happen is it?

Oh wait a minute...Linux Live CD to the rescue.

You don't want to use a CD. It is a Read Only media. Use a ZIP disk instead.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you might just have a small liking
for Linux.
Which version do you recommend for a newbie.

Having been going through this myself, I'll stick in my 2¢ worth<g>.

Asplinux, to start (very easy to install & configure).

Once you've learned the basics, I'd change to slackware (for slow/old
machines like mine), or Mandrake, for systems with enough power to
handle it.
