I am running Windows 2000 server and have an issue where users who have
network redirected printers disconnect instead of logging off. This leaves
a lot of empty printer ports that are not being used, however, they are
still active. If someone new logs on, sometimes the port gets reassigned
and print jobs go everywhere.
Technet has code for Windows 2000 to delete unused ports:
https://www.microsoft.com/technet/t...l=/technet/scriptcenter/printing/ScrPrn12.asp
My question is there any utility, resource, 3rd party program, anything at
all that will either help me view TCP/IP ports that are unassigned quickly,
or even delete them. I know I can go to Printers folder | File | Server
Properties | Ports and scan through them, but this can be difficult when
you are wading through a lot of printers. And because the users logged off
improperly, I can't delete the port.
Thanks for any help in advance.
