I work on an XP box. For performance reasons, I want to keep a local
copy of my Visual Sourcesafe database. For backup, I want the
directory in which I store the database to be constantly synched with
a directory on a W2K server. I've done searches, and I can only find
Public Folder info (Exchange Server) or shareware.

When you answer, please keep in mind that I'm a programmer, not a
network administrator -- please use full names instead of acronyms so
I can follow what you're saying.

Thanks all;
Duncan

Have you tried Robocopy from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit? That has some
switches that will synchronize directories. I've never used it for that
purpose, but I believe it works OK.

Since you're on XP, you could try downloading the Windows Server 2003 ResKit
Tools from the Microsoft web site. Not sure if that contains Robocopy,
though.
