Help Hosting online games

I have no problems joining any online gaming however I cannot host any online
gaming. I have opened the correct ports for the game I even closed down my
fire wall and tried. The games I wanted to host are quake 3 arena and H&D2.
Can anyone help?

I had the same problem behind my router. The only way I could do it was to
open up all ports, no router firewall. Obviously not sane but it was cool to
have a couple of friends playing briefly on my "server". Eh...they
complained about lag, of course ;)
But I am still frustrated that I could never figure out how to open one
specific port that worked for me. Gah!
I see this is old post, sorry.
