help - hibernation virus in my windows XP???

hi guys... i have a problem i would appreciate some help
with. I was playing the WCIII demo against some random
guy, and winning, when suddenly a message "preparing computer
for hibernation" appeared on my screen... then the system
went down, and now i cant start the computer... every time
i try to start it, it goes on for a sec or two, then goes
down (into hibernation, I suppose). I assume my opponent
was a sore loser and put some virus stuff on my comp, which
by the way runs on windows xp service pack 1... now I'm on
my girlfriends laptop and don't really know what to do...
any suggestions?

Your Oponent can't do that, unless you have been playing against the site
Webmaster <g>.
It does looks like an Overheating issue or leakage in your memory, try to
Start in Safe Mode and See if you could See any Error messages in your Event
Viewer and send them here in your next post and scan for Viruses and malwares
there.
Also try to look into your Power option by going to the Control panel ,
click on Performance and maintenance then Power mangement Option and see if
the Computer set to Hibernate after say 1hours of being Active you can set it
to Never. How Old your Computer and the battery?.

There is NO "hibernation virus" !
This is a faux conclusion and you meed to look elsewhere like the possibility you hit the
Hibernation Key on the keyboard.
