Hi all,

I'm having HD problems. Basically I've run scandisk for a few days (an Norton
diskdoctor) and today the disk didn't show up in windows...

It's a maxtor 80gig - downloaded their drive utility and the drive seems to be
ok.

When I now boot to a bootdisk - I get the "...there is no valid FAT or FAT32
partition...etc".

Does anybody know of a utility that I can use to repair the partition?

Any help appreciated,
Rob

Depends on the Operating System. Win2000 and XP both have some sort of
repair install. Fdisk also has a command to try to build a new MBR.
(a:\fdisk /mbr) There is a site on the internet called
www.nfts.com
that sells software to fix and recover partitions.

If this is a Maxtor Hard drive try their drive utility to see if the EZ-MAX
or EZ-Drive software can fix the drive.
