Hello,

Please try downloading Ad-Aware, run it in safe-mode using the Administrator
account and see if that fixes your issue. If that does not work, please post
back here and we'll see if we can help get this fixed.

And from now on, watch what you are downloading.
Anti-virus can help after you have gtotten a virus, but they don't stop you
from getting a virus. Id you click the "ok" do download it, you are pretty
much stuck.

First, try stanning with Windows Defender. That should catch it. If that
doesn't, try Spyware destroyer, it should have a free trial. If that doesn't
work, get rid of PC Cillin, that program doesn't work well anyway. I would
suggest AVAST! because it generally catches everything.
A little something to remember, if you have an " always on" connection,
remove your lan cable, or connection to the internet phusically before you
run full scan. Because with many internet based viri, if you are connected to
the net, the program is working and will keep your virus scan from being able
to remove.
That should get rid of your issue. And if that still doesn't do anything, go
into safe move WITHOUT networking, and see what you got there.
And if that STILL doesn't work. Man, sorry, time to format the Vista drive
and start over. THIS TIME with a better AV program.

I hope this helps,

Tom, for the last few hours I've been trying to run in safe mode. But when I
get there to log in as administrator it says "Your account has been disabled"
Dont know how to get in safe mode with this .I have tried everything.Even
turned off the UAC once to see if that would work.So I changed antivirus to
AVG and will run that already have spy-bot search & destroy.

If you can login regularly click on Start, type in lusrmgr.msc and press
enter. Then click on Users on the left hand side of the window. Then on the
right side right click on Administrator and click Reset Password. Select a
password you want to use and then press ok. Right click on Administrator
again and click on Properties. Then on the properties page uncheck Account
is Disabled. Press OK and then you should be able to login as an
Administrator in regular and Safe modes.

Trend always seems to pick up TightVNC as WORM_GENERIC.ZA on both my XP and
Vista systems. I have whitelisted these files now otherwise I keep on
getting alerts that they are viruses when I know they are not. I can
understand why they are mentioned though as TightVNC does allow other to
take control of your system.

Vince, thanks for that info, I was wondering if it was PC Cillin and maybe I
was the only one getting this Worm_Generic.Za.Didnt know exactly what I was
going to do because it was so annoying, so I switched to Windows Live Onecare
beta for Vista for now.Seems to be ok,except seems to load slow. Thanks
