Hello,
I've been using my simple home network
for quite a few years without any problems.
Just 2 pc's in a workgroup, winxp pro and win2k.
Today, I logged on to the xp box as another
(rarely used) user I had set up ages ago.
I brought up "view network computers" in
"my network places", and there were the two
machines as usual. But when I doublle clicked on the name on the
other PC, I got the message about not having necessary permission,
etc,etc.
I looked at the users defined to win2k, and I see an account with the
same name as the main XP logon that works fine.
No user exists for the secondary xp account that oesn't work.
However, the Guest account is available and active.
Why isn't this letting me access the shares?? Have I inadvertantly
set a policy restricting it's use somewhere in the murky past?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Dave
