Built a new PC - XP Home - all went fine and it all worked as
expected. Graphics card is a generic MX440 AGP card which installed
fine.

Found that the mobo was only running at 100Mz instead of 133Mz,
changed jumper (ASROCK mobo) and restarted. XP fine up to log on but
then no go. OK maybe something needs reinstalling so boot from CD and
do a Repair. Once again when it tries to go into main GUI for install
it locked up. Jumper changed back to 100Mx and restarted again.
Install/Repair runs fine and after finsihing, the 2 origiinal accounts
are still there and the desktops etc are still there. Great thinks me!
Only problem is that the graphics card has vanished, no entry for
graphics card in Device Manager at all? Assume it's running generic
SVGA as I can wind the display to 1024x768 but can't change refresh
rate. Tried resinstalling drivers for card but after reboot it still
won't show a display adapter yet the card must be working or I
wouldn't see anything!

Safe mode doesn't show anything either BTW.

I am assuming this must be a registry setting somewhere which needs
changing but where?

TIA

cheers,
Len
