Help!

I have been trying troubleshoot this error message in the event
viewer.

Some info on the problem is:

Source:Service Control manager
Category: None
Type: Error
Event ID: 7000

Description:
"The Genesys Logic USB Scanner Controller NT 5.0 service failed to
start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified. "

In reviewing the Event Viewer, I noticed this error comes up everytime
the computer is restarted. Can soeone help??

Background:
I found this error while trying to find the source of my wakeup from
"Standby" issues. Don't know if they are related, but it seems to
need to be fixed.

I thought it had to do with a recently installed PCI combo USB 2.0 /
Firewire card, but the date of the first one of these error messages
predates the installation of the card.

This happened to me when I removed a Panasonic 7100 USB printer. I had
had it connected to an Adaptec Duoconnect PCI card which, I believe,
uses the Genesis USB Logic chip.
The error stopped after I put back the repaired printer.
If this is your case then possibly removing the printer drivers, etc
may help.
John
