Getting the following msg when selecting an items in help
menu:
An error has occured in script on this page
ERROR: Object doesn't support this property or method
ms-its:
C:\winnt\help\hardware.chm:://hardware_repair_device.htm

Unable to find this information on my HDD. Recently
installed SP2 for windows 2000.

This problem popped up with the installation of
SP4, and disappeared after a while with one of
the automatic updates.

He is SP2 and mine hasn't gone away. SP4. You don't get an error going to Start | Help | Contents | Internet, E-mail, and Communications | Connect to the Internet ???

Not sure what to do about the OPs case.

I'm aware that he said "SP2". On the other hand his
error message agreed nicely with the one caused by
SP4:

"Internet Explorer Script Error: Object doesn't support this
property or method",

and I know that it went away on my machines as the
updates were installed. Furthermore, Microsoft are
aware of the issue under SP4.

My Help is all screwed up. Never was before SP4. You didn't answer my question. No biggie.

I gave you as much information as I have, so I suppose
I'll have to do without your bikkie. I suggest you now do
as I did: Explore the problem carefully, document it,
then report it in detail to Microsoft. I know it takes time -
I've been through it myself.
