Help, freezes when connected to the web

I bought a new computer, put XP Pro on it up to date with
all updates. Initially tried to setup a an internet
connection but failed to even log on. Replaced the modem
driver with an XP driver and it connected. However after a
few minutes of surfing the net it crashes on me and
totally freezes. Alt,Ctrl and Del dont work nothing works
i have to reset it. Modem is connected fine and works
computer specs are fine it justs freezes. Sometimes it
doesnt even connect totally, it dials and then sometimes
freezes. Please help brand new comp. and OS and modem
works fine but just this problem Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks

Not really a networking issue. Try one of the hardware forums.
However, I would suggest replacing the modem, not just the driver.
