Jef.

Apologies, first of all, if this has already been answered to death
elsewhere, but I found nothing during my cursory search.

I could use some serious help or practical advice with this...

I've ust upgraded from XP Home, to Vista Home Premium. So far, so good--
except for it not liking my Zone Alarm, Power DVD, Intellipoint, MS
Powertoys, or Notrton Antivirus 2007...

A lot of paring down and re-installation going on, here.

I'm running a true clone PC with an AMD 64 Athlon, 2.21 GHz processor w/
2046 MB of RAM, according to my System info.
Most things seem to be running all right.

I cannot access HELP and SUPPORT, though, via START/. Every time I try and
select it, I an error message window opens, saying:
"Internet Explorer cannot download / from Help. Internet Explorer was not
able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or
cannot be found. Please try again later."
There's a download window straining to accomplish something, just behind it,
and another, tall, narrow Windows Help and Support display window with no
info in it at all.
They all just hang and hang and hang until I click to close them.

A web search seems to indicate that Microsoft stopped including the .exe
file that allows 32-bit .hlp files to be read, starting with VISTA...!?!
This doesn't even make sense, especially as one is urged to "...use HELP and
SUPPORT for answers to all your questions..."

Anyone else have this problem, and/or have you heard about it and can you
recommend what to do? I'd like to be able to access the HELP features, but
don't understand why I cannot.

Thanks--

Jef.
