Excel Form Controls

GameMaster,

That is a super page you referred us all to. Unfortunately, I don't know VB...yet. I am having to build my Excel form (in Excel 2007) directly onto a spreadsheet. I am having two problems, which I hiope you may be able to help with:

1) When I place a Text Box ActiveX control on the spreadsheet, and then I right click and look in properties for something that will allow me to set the Text Box such that the user can type text directly into it, I cannot find the appropriate property. Consequently, the Text Box is behaving as though it is display-only (i.e., as though I am using it to display "Home" next to another Text Box in which a user can type their home phone number). How can I set the property of the Text Box so the user can type into it? I see the Link box, which will nicely allow me to direct the user's input to the Text Box to precisely the cell I wish (I'm hoping the property control in the Text Box ActiveX control will allow me to Link the Text Box to a cell in another sheet...the combo box Reference and Linked Cell properties do).

2) I would like the user to not see all the columns of the spreadsheet that are showing--for now--on the right side of the letter-size area of the spreadsheet form. Obviously, I can't "hide" all the columns at the right, as they do on to infinity. I'd like the user to see just the printable area.

3) I can still see the grey gridlines in the background. This is fine for me while I am developing the form, but I'd like for the user to not see them.

I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and help.

Karen
