help for outlook

[computer illiterate]

I use microsoft Outlook for my e-mail and calendar. When I get an event reminder notification and click it, my outlook stops working and I have to restart it. It also does the same thing when I click on a calendar meeting invitation through outlook. Anyone know how i can fix it?
