Help - Firewall Not Activated

When I go to Accessories-System Tools - Security Center Firewall is not
activated. And it does not give the option to turn it on (can't click the
green circle). Also, shouldn't my anti-virus on/off be posted under security
center? I reset the defaults for firewall, I think by mistake. Should I do
a system restore back to another date? Please suggestions appreciated.

What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is clean,
what programs (names, versions) did you use to determine this?

What do you mean "reset the defaults for firewall, I think..."? What did you
do?

Malke - Under security center, I selected "advanced" TAB and said OK to
restore defaults.. But this was in response to the fact that my firewall is
turned off. It wil not let me click it on (which is recommended). Although
firewall shows under security center I cannot activate. Also, my AVG
(Grisoft) antivirus does not show up under security center. When I ran last
evening I had 29 viruses, mostly adaware, I have an Adaware Generic.NTN that
is still infected, the only one. Help! How do I get firewall reinstated?

You have to clean up your machine. Ad-aware alone will not do it and
probably the viruses have broken AVG, too. Go through the malware removal
steps I already gave you including scanning with Sysclean or Multi_AV and
Ewido. After your machine is really clean, you'll be able to fix the
firewall. Take that box off the Internet and any local area network
immediately! Do all the preparatory work and all the finishing work. Here

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

Based on your posts, I would say that you follow my advice in the above
paragraph and take it to a reputable shop/person.
