I am a new user of Access, and am resorting to the help
files frequently - however unlike ac97, ac2000 does not
seem to have a comprehensive help library esp. wrt to ADO
controls, methods and properties. If there any way I can
down load these help files from the internet (do they
exist?) ah-la sun's java help files?

Thanks

Jack

The A2000 Help files are, frankly, a disaster. The A2002 help files
are, to the disgust and amazement of all of us who've dealt with them,
even WORSE. The content is (generally) pretty good but the Contents
are quirky, the Index is bad, and the Search Assistant is essentially
useless for anything but very basic new-user features.

That said... if you open the VBA editor, you gain access to a
DIFFERENT help file which does include (badly indexed, still)
documentation on properties and methods, unlike the generic Access
Help. The Object Browser can also provide links to some help. But
believe me, the Help file is one of the sore spots among Access
developers, and Microsoft's ears are burning.

Agreed.

As a workaround, jack, if you still have the Access 97 files available,
create a desktop shortcut to the file ACMAIN80.HLP.
