Help files access net

Mike

I've got this strange problem that I'd like to resolve.

Everytime I use a "Help File" in a program (similar to
the one in Notepad), it will try to connect to the
internet. In other words, my dialup window pops up.

I'm assumming that the help files in XP are somehow
supposed to access the net for additional information on
a subject.

But, I don't want this option.

Any ideas on how to disable it?

Thanks in advance. Please follow up in this news group.

Disable automatic dial completely (means no program can automatically dial,
however you can do manually.)

1. Right click the My computer icon (Desktop), open Manage/Services and
Applications/Services.
2. In the right pane scroll down to Remote Accces Auto Connection Manager
and double click it.
3. Use the Startup type drop box and choose Disabled.

What he meant was to disable the help and support utility from getting
headlines. I saw it on TechNet but can't seem to locate it again. :(
