I have installed the beta on many machines and they all
work fine. On my personal machine it worked ok for quite
awhile and now I get an "Error 101" message every time I
try to open the program. I tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the program to no avail. It does run in safe
mode. I am an administrator on the local machine.

Please help me get this program runnning again. Thanx.

This error usually has something do with permissions from what most users
have said solved with.

Try this:
a.. Open up control panel and double-click on add/remove programs.
Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
Select "Change"
On the Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard, click next.
On the next screen (Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard) select Update
Microsoft AntiSpyware and click next.
Select Install
Let the product update.
Click Finish.

Thanks, Andre for posting, but it still did not help. I did
what you said and still getting the 101 error. If it's a
problem with permissions, I don't see what changed all of a
sudden where it won't run. I don't share this computer so I
have full control of all folders. I also tried making the
ms antispyware directory not read only, but that didn't
help either.

Can anyone pinpoint the solution here?

Thanx

Jay

I get the same error when deploying the MSI via assigning
in Active Directory. Any assistance or if anyone has found
a solution to this error, would be great.

If you run the downloaded file with the /a switch, it expands into a set of
files which include an MSI. However, there are other bits which need to be
in particular folders, I suspect, to get it all to work.

I've got this error after running setup with RunAs.

Then I removed it and install again logged in
interactively as Admin user, logoff, logon as non-admin
user and it works fine.

So I suppose if you used any alternative setup option
than running setup as interactively logged admin user, it
has the same result: Error 101.
