I used Eraser 5.7 rewrote over my unused disc space. Never had issues before
until now.
I had 70 gigs of free space until I used this eraser software.
Now I only have 21 gigs after the eraser software rewrote my hard drive =0(
I used system restore to no avail #$^&%&*^%
What the hell happened????

I tried defragging and the system analyzer tells me that I have 50 gigs of
Permanent RED Fragmented files on my hard drive now!!!!!!
Do I have to reformat now to get my hard drive back the way it was before I
erased?

I have months of work and software that is hard to replace.

Red= BAD! If these are really bad sectors, your drive is going to fail. If
you want to take a chance, run Scandisk and set it to try to recover lost
sectors.

Just use the backup copies that you've made.
