Hello...

I'm a self-taught user of Access 2000 and am having a problem when
trying to edit a form (subform?) from a main form.

What happens is this. In the normal data entry view, I can click on
any number of buttons to bring up a specific form, which is viewable
inside this main form. However, when I go into design view, ALL these
individual forms apear on top of one another.

I need to re-size and reposition one of the forms that is buried deep
in in the mass of forms that appear in design view. HOW do I close
all but the one form that I need to re-size and reposition?

Thanks in advance for reading and replying...

subforms do not float on a main form in design view,
they're objects just like a textbox is an object and a
command button is an object. you can't "close" a subform
in the main form.
try this:
open the main form in design view.
make sure the Formatting(Form/Report) toolbar is open.
on the left end of the toolbar there is a combo box that
lists all the objects on the form.
scroll down until you find the name of the subform object
you want, then click on it.
on the menu bar, click Format, Bring to Front. now you can
see the subform you want to manipulate.
if you don't know the name of the subform object, you may
have to click on each object in the list until you find
the right one.
