right click/delete. Or go to the content tab in internet explorer and clear
the check marks that pertain.

not exactly sure what you mean,

to delete the item directly from the drop down menu, right click on each
entry and select delete. To prevent items from being saved in the drop down
menu, go to the control panel>internet options>Content
tab>AutoComplete>remove the mark next to web addresses and forms.AND click
clear forms. As a measure of certainty, also click on the General
Tab>History>clear History AND change the number of days to Save History to
0.
To prevent the latter part of your question, i.e, typing D brings up
suggestions, if you use Google, go to Options in Google, you'll find
'search box settings' or however it's worded..slightly different for IE and
Firefox..remove marks that would keep your search settings.

Hi globalcooling,
What Ivee meant is open Internet Explorer and click on Tools >> Internet
Options from the drop down list.
On the IE Properties windows you will see Tabs like:

Ceneral | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced .

Click on Content Tab you will see a Button labled AutoComplete click on this
and there onthe AutoComplete Settings you will see Boxes:
--Use Autocomplete for---------
[ ] Web addresses
[ ] Forms
[ ] User names and Passwords on forms
[ ] Prompt me to save passwords
-- Clear AutoComplete History------------

[ Clear Forms ] [ Clear Passwords ] Click on those buttons
to clear
Do your changes accourding your needs, meaning if you want Internet Explorer
remmeber your Website address check the box like this [ √ ] next time you
type IE will give you the list which you don't need now, sow uncheck you will
not prompt next time with drop dwon list.
HTH.
Please let us know.
Regards,
nass
