Help: Determining MDAC level programmatically?

Please, is there any way to determine the MDAC level programmatically?
I've got a customer on a very small project eating up all my time with
support calls saying This isn't working That isn't working, who is
stonewalling when I ask him if he has installed MDAC 2.7 and the latest
JET 4.0 for which I sent him the URLS. I'd like to send him a version of
my program that tests for the level of these libraries and displays a
warning message if the wrong levels are present.

The easiest way (at least, off the top of my head) would
probably be to check the file versions of a view of the
core files. If they match what the release manifest
says, you could probably assume that they installed the
that release of mdac.
