How do I delete a password saved through prompting? I have a couple of

websites that prompt for a user name/pass. I did not check to save the

login but it seems to have cached it anyway. Now the site passwords
have changed and I can't figure out how
to make the sites prompt again so I can change them in the dialogue
box. I haven't found any cookies associated with the sites.

I have tried the following with no luck:

Open IE, select tools, Internet Options, Content, Autocomplete.
From there you can Clear Forms and Clear Passwords
You can also uncheck or check what items you want for autocomplete.

I also did Options | Security | Internet
(zone) | Authentication and set it to prompt for logins.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brett

Hi,
Go to the login page. Double-click in the username field. If the username is
in the drop-down autocomplete list, select it (put the pointer on it) and
hit the Delete key.

Or... Run Protected Storage PassView from
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html Delete any saved login information
connected with ebay.

Or (WindowsXP) Go to Control Panel> User Accounts> your username> Manage my
network passwords. If it's there, delete it.

Hope this helps,

None of what you have applies.

1.) There is only a blank white webpage with "Error: Access is Denied."
in the upper left corner. I use to prompt but now doesn't.

2.) Zone Alarm doesn't allow me to run this and has posted information
about it on their website:
http://osalerts.zonelabs.com/osanal...2-1025/199f9eb010e49335b200073f1&tab=overview.
I trust their suggestion.

3.) It isn't a network password and not listed in this section. IE has
cached this somewhere.

But thanks.

Hello!

Try to delete related cookie files. Some sites remembers your login
information in cookie files, stored on your computer. Try this tool
http://www.585Soft.com/IEhistoryX.asp it allows you selectively delete
autocomplete form information and cookies files. It trial ware but you
can use it for 30 days without any limitations.

Hi,
There's nothing wrong with running PSPV on your own user account. A program
attempting to recover passwords *could be* malicious- PSPV, in this case, is
not.

Could you have missed a cookie- perhaps with a different name?

Hope this helps,

I tried the IEHistoryx tool but it didn't help. There isn't a cookie
that I can see related to the site. I've looked several times.

Thanks,
Brett

I've covered about everything but it still won't prompt and gives me
the access denied message. I've cleared all cookies and temp files.
Cleared everything in Autocomplete and have nothing checked. They
aren't in any allow or deny lists. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Brett

Hi,
Sorry. I lost track of this topic. Do you have a "profile" at these sites-
like message boards? The admin or moderator may be able to reset your
password.

It sounds like you've tried all other possibilities.
