Help! Cursor jumps all over!

I've been having a problem with my cursor jumping to wherever my mouse pointer is resting. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? Its nearly impossible to type e-mails or anything else for that matter.....HELP!
 
Most likely cause by a faulty video card or video card adapter.
Are the latest Windows XP drivers installed for both your
video card and mouse?
