the help list of commands has no registry restore command. or even a reg edit, scanreg

or rollback the reg commands

it was 9:31 pm 12-01-03 i have a dump3131.tmp file on my c:\windows dir

and I have an mt dir called lastgood.tmp created at 9:3

the only other file seems to be at 9:46 pm and all the rest are older or original

I can not get in unles I xp insstalllating reformats the whole drive, i cant lose all that...

Using the XP cd, you have an option to do a repair/upgrade
install - (not sure exactly what they call it, but you get
the drift).

It's claimed that this feature will only re-write the OS
files and leave all other files and settings in tact.
I've used it sucessfully once on a friends PC - but I
suggest only using as a last resort. - might not even be
an option in your case.
