Hi Colin1096,

That lastest error you refered to in your post pertaining to IDriverT.exe is
a good indicator that your installshield system isn't properly installed.

That file is used to create the following Installshield service:
Service: InstallDriver Table Manager (IDriverT) - Macrovision Corporation - C:\Program Files\Common
Files\InstallShield\Driver\11\Intel 32\IDriverT.exe

Did you already try the solutions in this article?:

Yes i did all that , cleaned the temp etc , but still to no avail . Its
driving me around the bend . . . :-(

Hi Colin1096,

Let's try a couple of things to get that working for you:

1. Startup your system in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 repeatedly
while your system is booting up after you've shut down your system

2. Log in with an account you've created as a "Computer Administrator"
account that you'll use to play the game, but don't use a Limited account.

3. Try installing COD2

A valid Ca Hello Jimmy , thanks for your help ...

Heres what i did , i got most of the files in from the 1st installation ,
before it says the 1628 thingy so i just moved the files missing over from
the disc to the folder . Bingo , everythings ok . But i need to update to
1.2 . I downloaded the patch but when i came to run it i got this message :
" A valid Call of Duty 2 installation could not be found at the path
specified . Please specify the path where Call of Duty is installed " .
I went onto Activisions website and they suggested creating a version number
in regedit and also it said about a path " InstallPath REG_SZ
c:\PROGRA~1\ACTIVI~1\CALLOF~1 " which i did but it still says the same
thing .

The game is working online and in single player mode in version 1.0 but i
need to upgrade it to 1.2.
Thanks for taking the time for looking at this for me.. Colin

Hi Colin1096,

Since the installer isn't able to detect your installation, I suggest
you copy over your COD2 directory to the path where the
update installer is expecting it to be and let it update COD 2.

Afterwards, try running the game from the new directory.
If that fails, copy over the newly updated files to the directory
you originally copied them from, thus overwriting the old ones.

I hope that helps!
