Help CD Drive and CDrw disappear

Had this problem for a while. Sometimes there most of
the time gone. Doesn't show up anywhere on MyComputer or
device manager. Thought maybe an update 320174, but when
I went to uninstall, it wasn't listed even though update
says I installed. What else can I do? Thanks for any
help!!
