also i tried to switch to windows live and i am totally confused. (which
doesnt take much)
 
Hi, Carol.

First, that error message ("unexpectedly terminated") is not uncommon; my
ISP gives me that fairly often. The cause might be as simple as "a long
period of inactivity". Or problems with the server or network, as it says;
nothing wrong on your end of the connection. Usually, when it happens to
me, simply trying again is all it takes to get connected.

I've not used Yahoo, but I've read several messages that suggest that Port
25 might not be the right setting; I'll let someone else tell you about
that.

HOW did you try to switch? Windows Live Mail is similar to Windows Mail,
but it is a completely different program. Installing WLM should be as easy
as clicking here and following the instructions:
http://download.live.com

You'll be offered all the Windows Live Essentials (Windows Live Messenger,
Windows Live Photo Gallery, etc.); accept as many or as few as you like,
they're all free for the download. For peer-to-peer support of WLMail,
click:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

If that doesn't work for you, please post back and tell us, step by step,
exactly what you did and what results you saw, including - verbatim - any
error messages. (Just a bare-naked "tried it" doesn't tell us much; neither
does just "didn't work".)
