HELP! can't use print screen key in win xp!

for some reason, in win xp, the print screen key won't
work. when i initiate word pad and paste, there is nothing
there. anyone have a clue?

marggy ... are you seeing the screen capture in the clipboard viewer?

To open the viewer, go to Start, Run and type "clipbrd" ... then hit the
Print Screen key (or ALT Print Screen) and see if appears in the viewer. If
not, it sounds like your key may not be making contact.
 
yep, i can see the screen in cbv but how do i print that?

marggy ... If you can see it in 'clipboard view', you now know it's in
memory, so try bringing up a program that accepts images like MS Paint, MS
Word, etc, and do a 'paste'. You can (should) then see the pasted screen
capture and be able to print the image from that programs print command.
