I have several directories I've made available offline, but these folders
have grown in size and I'm tired of waiting for them to sync everytime I log
off.

I want to turn the offline feature off for certain folders (not all), but
when I right-click the folder, the "checked" option to "make available
offline" is greyed out. I tried turning the offline file feature completely
off clearing the cached files, but as soon as I turn the offline file
feature back on it makes these same folders available again.

Can someone advise???

thanks,
kevin

Try to re-initialize the cache.. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=230738 for more details.

Please note that this will reset ALL offline files... So make sure
you sync before doing this.

You tried the "complete" clearing of the cache? If so, these folders
are permanently deleted from your cache.... Re-check the article...

No. I'm a Putz. I skimmed the article and thought it was one I had already
read. I did not notice the CTR-Shift part of the instructions. I will try
this.

Thanks for challenging me on it.

thanks,
Kevin

I know - it was easy to miss that step.... That's why I re-suggested
it... :)
