Help! Can't Log On

I'm using Win2K Pro on an IBM ThinkPad laptop. It was configured for a LAN
at work using a Domain. I thought it would be nice to also access my home
network using a Workgroup. When I set things up for a Workgroup, I was
prompted to reboot. When it rebooted the logon screen didn't recognize my
old password.

Any ideas of what I might have done, and how to undo it (or at least let me
get back in to backup my data and reformat)?

Take it back to work and have a network admin add it back to the domain.

Like someone said - take it back to work and get it re-added to the
Domain. It cannot belong both to a Workgroup and a Domain.

When you connect it to the home LAN, login to it *with the work Domain
credentials* (they'll be cached on the machine). Then access the
resources on your workgroup by prefacing the login ID (one of the ones
on the machine that you are trying to connect to) with the machine
name).

Suppose the share is called "album-pics" on machine "dadsmachine".
"Dadsmachine" has a user "dads". Access the share with
dasmachine\dads, and the correct password for "dads" on that machine.

If I can't even log on, how can the N/W Admin add the computer to the

You could also ask your network administrator to give you
a local account / password.

They will log in using a local admin account they create when they install
windows 2000.
