I have 3 things wrong with my computer:

-System 32 Folder opens at Start Up
-Photoshop loads at Start Up and about half of my usual Start up programs
don't load.
-ANY Program I try to run opens Photoshop. Even when I try a System Restore.

It started yesterday. I think it would be ok if I could go back to my last
Restore Point, but it won't let me. Any ideas on how to get around it??

Thanks,
Howi

It sounds like you might have somehow associated Photoshop
with all .exe files.

If so, you might try the following virus removal instructions to
restore proper association of .exe files:

<http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2001-022214-2000-99&tabid=3>

....just a guess,

1) uninstall photoshop

2) then go to start, run,
msconfig

3) then go to the startup
tab and disable all of them.

4) then reboot and
see if your problem or
some of them clears up.

if not, then let us know.

however, you might
simply save lots of
time and do a repair installation
with your windows cd.

after windows becomes
basically functional again
and a fresh new restore
point is created, you
can reinstall photoshop.

Thanks a lot, guys!

The thought of .exe association crossed my mind. Yesterday, I wanted to edit
a picture, so I right clicked and "Open With...". I added Photoshop to the
list and did my edits as usual. That's when I started having the problem.

I will try these. Thanks!

Reply:
Use "Tuneup Utilities" to tweak the start up programs. Uninstall Photoshop &
Reinstall it.
About system32 folder: close all files/folder at shutdown/logoff; delete any
entry relating to the "system32" enry; Try a good Antivirus/Antispyware
(Norton Antivirus and Spyware Doctor) to check system. Uninstall any software
you find suspicious from Add/Remove Program menu.

[Hoping this will solve.]
