HELP! can't access lots of stuff "popup blocked" ???

I think this happened after I installed a patch but now I can't access all
sorts of things on the web now that aren't popup ads at all. Using wXP pro,
IE6 sp1.

Example..news photo slideshows at yahoo, posting at a web based MS support
NG, etc. When I click on a link or button, nothing happens but a message in
the lower left of IE6 that says "popup blocked"

I've tried all sorts of different settings in options dealing with active
scripting, active x controls, to no avail.

Obviously, you installed a popup blocker. As you just saw, it can also
block useful popup windows. Double-click on the message "Popup blocked"
to see what happened, or have a look at Start, Programs. You'll find a
popup blocker there. Read its documentation.

afraid that's not it Hans....I don't have any blocker. This is generated in
IE somehow.

The only clue I have is when I place the cursor over the link that doesn't
work, IE show something about JavaScript in the lower left.

I've tried different security options but nothing I do fixes the problem.
I've seen several posts in other forums, but no answer that works for folks
that have this problem?!?#?!

Try RUN
msconfig
Look at the startup menu

You might have a blocker installed on your system without knowing
about it. (Anybody else have access to the computer?)
