HELP cannot use disc cleanup

I've been trying to use disk cleanup for month
but all it seems to do is start up instantly fill up
with 3 bars across the meter and then freeze
Any tips would be appreciated.

If Disk Cleanup stops responding at "Scanning: Compress old files", follow
the instructions in this MSKB article to resolve the problem:
