Trevor L.

Something odd has happened to my website (address below) lately.

When opened, all that appears are the 3 frames of which it is made up. The
borders are present, but the content is completely blank (actually white).
The web address is in the address bar.

The only way to load it that I can find is clicking on the Go button (in
IE6) - this loads the page O.K.

I can't understand what is going on. There is nothing happening - i.e. the
cursor is a plain arrow (not an hour glass) and there are no error messages
in the status bar.

Could people check and see what they get and also can anyone make
suggestions as to what is wrong.

Working from here.

Working from here.

Thanks, Thomas and Rob,
That's what I was afraid of.
IE6 or Firefox ? (or something else)

It opens OK in Firefox 1.5 and also when loading a second time in IE6 by any
means e.g. clicking the back and forward buttons also works.

I wonder is there some work around. e.g. do a *single* refresh of the page
when it loads. I'll have to think how it can be done only once. Perhaps test
a global variable which is defined in one of the frames and if it is null,
reload. The trouble is this would have to repeated every few seconds for it
to work - although after the orginal load has worked, it only has to return
if the variable is found.

I stil can't figure out:
1. Why ?
and
2. Why only in IE6 ?

Working OK here - just takes a while with dialup with all the animations you
have on the site.
Perhaps your ISP is having problems?

Try downloading javascript from java.com. It is a free download and you will
be able to see all web compnents when this is installed. Good Luck.

Yes, the animations may take a while. Perhaps I should remove them - it was
fun to put them there but not necessary. Actually, they don't take all that
long when I reload the page. Dial up could be a problem I guess - I use DSL
at 256 MBps

I will try to check the JS errors. Sometimes I see them, other times I
don't. Is it just the yellow triangle in the status bar to look out for or
are there other ways to invoke a debugger?

Thanks, Steve.
I thought of that and did my best to do so.

I use your FPCleaner and also this .bat file

del C:\Windows\Temp\*.*
del C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\Local Settings\Temp\*.*
del C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\*.*

Is that sufficient?
Perhaps your program does much the same, although I do see files deleted by
each.

Your .bat file and FPCleaner do two entirely unrelated things.

Also, if using Windows 2000 or XP, they will override your .bat file and
restore the deleted files.

If I'm having problems with "slowness" I Reset web settings in IE > Tools >
Internet options >
Programs. ( Uncheck "reset my home page when prompted )

I also open a command window and flush the DNS cache.
ipconfig /flushdns
