I would appreciate some help or advice, please! I am going crazy trying to
figure this out:
I have two computers:
* Windows 2000 Professional with IP 192.168.1.15, Subnet Mask
255.255.255.128, Default Gateway 10.253.169.1
* Windows XP Professional with IP 192.168.1.13, Subnet Mask
255.255.255.128, Default Gateway 10.253.169.1
On both computers the networking SEEMS to be working fine. I can access the
general network, network-resources, and the Internet from both computers...
I do NOT have a firewall installed on either computer, and on the Windows XP
computer I specifically do NOT have the "Internet Connection Firewall"
enabled. Both computers have TCP/IP setup, with Netbios enabled over
TCP/IP.
From the Windows XP computer I *CAN* ping the Windows 2000 computer. On
the Windows XP computer I can also MAP A NETWORK DRIVE which is located on
the [remote] Windows 2000 computer.
However, From the Windows 2000 computer I *CANNOT* ping the Windows 2000
computer. On the Windows XP computer I cannot map a network drive which is
located on the [remote] Windows 2000 computer...??? Why???
Any help or ideas will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Cameron
