I believe I created this problem when I deleted the domain
for my User Name and tried to create a new workgroup
instead. When I restarted the computer it would not allow
me to log on to my account "sbrecker". What are my
options to achieve log on? I have misplaced the
administrator log in info. Is there anything short of
reinstalling the system that will allow me to save my
data? Is there a way to replace the system without
formatting the drive and erasing my data??

Bring the machine back to the domain where it belongs and ask the system
administrator to rejoin it for you.

I seem to have done exactly the same thing as sbrecker below.
However, can you help me with more information. How can I bring the
machine back to the domain where it belongs if I cannot log on?

Thanks for any information you can send me.

You, or the admin of the domain that the system was joined to, will need
to know the password for the local administrator account (or at least
for an account that has local administrator rights). If you don't, then
get out the OS install CD and start reinstalling from scratch.

Hi Jill,

You will have to physically connect your machine to the network where it
belongs to. You will need the help of the system administrator to rejoin it
to the domain.
