Whenever I type in a URL address I always get this
hugesearch.net page. I run Spybot and everything works,
but if I log off my internet service, aol, and then go
back on it has the same problem. Please anyone with any
information or if you had a similar problem, please
please help me. It would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Brian,
My name is Jose and I had the same problem. The problem is that it's
an HTML application file that was put in your Fonts folder. These
have a .hta file extension. So do a search on all files that have that
extension or you could just look in your Fonts folder in your Control
Panel. You are looking for a font called simply, "fonts.hta". What
this file does is that even after you've found all the places they
were stored in the registry, it resets all the settings again after
you've re-booted your PC. It's a nasty little "virus". The file is
written in VB-Script. If you want to see the code, find the file and
open it using Notepad. Anyway here's the solution to fix it:
1) Find the "fonts.hta" file and delete it.
2) Then do an entire search of your registry by using this string:
"
http://www.hugesearch.net/search.php?qq=%s"
3) Delete every registry key value you find that contains this
string.
4) Reboot your pc and you should be fine. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Jose
