how do i use a simple lan network to perform a network boot. i got my cmos
switched to where it does lan boot first and when i restart it says that it
is conneting to the dhcp but then says something about a file. how do i fix
this.

You need a special server that provides network boot files and a specially
developed network boot image in order to boot your computer over the
network - you can't simply say "Boot from Network" and have it load the boot
files from, say, any other computer on the network. Do you have such a
server on your network?

The answer to that question would fill several books. At this point I'm
really tempted to stick with the simple answer, "You can't." Unless you're
willing to invest about a couple thousand bucks in hardware and software,
there's nothing you can do with your existing network to make this work.
