I am going to wipe my harddrive and reinstall MS 2000 server. I have a
dell dimension 2400. The computer came with XP home installed. I
wanted to play around with a server OS so I installed 2000 server. It
took me a few days to get all the correct drivers installed and working
properly. I'm looking for suggestions on the easiest way to take an
inventory of all the hardware and drivers on my PC. I vaguely remember
an application which basically took a snap shot of all your resources (I
got it from watching tech-TV a while back). But I cannot remember what
it was now. I know how to go into device manager to locate the drivers
but is there a way to back up just my drivers so when I reinstall 2000
server again I don't have to go through all the searching to get all my
peripherals working again. Thank you for any suggestions. Peter

Possibly you mean AIDA or NEWT for the inventory, I don't know if they
handle the backing-up part.

Sorry, this doesn't answer your question, but I wanted to ask... Why not
just burn all of the drivers you downloaded to a CD?

As far as hardware inventory goes, I use Everest Home Edition.
