Help automatically launches

I recently acquired an XP-Home edition machine. I had some problems and restored the whole drive. Now, whenever I'm working in either internet explore or microsoft outlook, the help page launches auomatically. This has become a real irritant. Is this a standard function of XP-Home, and if so, is there a way to disable it?
