I've had a P4S333 running well for almost two years. Yesterday on start-up
she would not boot.
The Vocal Post Message was "System failed memory test". I have two sticks
of 256k Kingmax DDR 333 memory
which have been in the board since I bought it. I tested the memory today
at a local computer shop and it worked fine.

Yes, I have cleared the RAM data in the CMOS but that did not get me
rebooted.

When it powers up all fans come on (and stay on) and the Vocal POST reporter
just keeps repeating the memory failed.
I have disconnected all device power cables and pci /ide connections. Just
power to the MB and CPU

Is the Board dead? Is the BIOS cooked? I did nothing to this computer
before it crashed other than move it from a shelf to
space beneath my desk. I did have the case open briefly during the move and
one drop of perspiration fell on the board
when I leaned over. Could I have shorted out the board?

What a great excuse to get a new Board but in the meantime if anyone has a
suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

I see that no one is helping you on this..
it's been a few days so i'll go this one..

the first thing I would say is that maybee the ram has come unseated.. so
take it out and put it back..

still same problem, then remove one stick and see if it boots, still same
problem, exchange the 2 sticks and see if it boots..

If it is 2 years old then you will have plenty of dust in the machine, so if
the pc was off and a drop of sweat went into it and dried then you would
have a nice sweaty, dusty, dot... so sure it's possible that "something" is
damaged from that but I would say that a can of pcb cleaner might help..
If the board is clean to begin with then just look around and see if you can
find the "spot" of dust.. if you find it (the spot) then you could try
cleaning it.. I would use IsoAlc and a toothbrush..
