Help! I am a new user of Windows XP and the day after I
installed updates I keep getting the following message
and then my internet explorer keeps closing down:-
"fsav32.exe application error - the instruction
at "Ox77f51aa" referenced memory at "OX7ffc3470" The
memory could not be written"
Can anyone help here?

You have a trojan. Description of the virus can be found at the websites of
most antivirus vendors. Here's a link from the McAfee site:

http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_100106.htm

If you do not have an antivirus program - get one! Install it. Most
important, keep the virus definition update current! If you need a free
program, check out AVG: http://www.grisoft.com

fsav32.exe is part of your antivirus program. you might try disableing it
and installing updates or contacting the makers of the program for support.

Whoops! You're correct Chris. It is a part of F-Protect. Followed a few
links to various trojan info. They mention the file is in the list of
targeted A/V programs that many of these nasties like to disable. Read too
fast and thought it *was* the trojan! Sorry.

No problem.
