help! annoying popup is everywhere!

i CANNOT ANSWER AN EMAIL OR TYPE MORE THAN 3 NUMBERS
WITHOUT THE FILE DROP DOWN MENU SHOWING UP. THEN IT ERASES
EVERYTHING IF YOU DO NOT HIT ESC FIRST.

IT HAS TO BE A SETTING I'VE DOWNLOADED ALL UPDATES AND
PERFORMED VIRUS SCAN. HELP! IT IS GOING OUT THE WINDOW
NEXT.

this is going to sound really stupid to say... but be SURE
that all input devices are clear.. and nothing is ontop if
them... say like a joystick, or gamepad....the buttons
being pressed can casue this if there is something sitting
on the gamepad, or other device.
