I can't find my windows xp home 'help and support' exe file
I did a search and explored the folders/files but it isn't there.
because I have had problems in the past, the sp2 update was done in a 'shop'
where they cleaned up my computer so now I don't have a cd to update my xp.
Is there somewhere I can go to get the help and support for windows xp
downloaded, hopefully for free?
thanx for your help,
shelagh

What happened to your XP CD, you should get it back from the shop, if they
installed XP in the shop then they should supply you your purchased XP CD &
License (key code).

GET that CD back!! It is critical to continued operation. Call the Shop,
talk to the owner/foreman/boss, and tell him/her you need it back right
now. Find another shop.

I should qualify what I said about the cd; the shop updated my xp with the
sp2 and since then when i have tried to recover/restore anything from my
original xp cd it says something to the effect of 'the installed edition is
newer than the cd, and it is not recommended to continue with the
installation'... something along those lines... when I called the shop about
it they said not to use my cd for restoration but they didn't suggest an
alternative ! that is why I am writing to you all.
I will try again with the shop and my cd and see if I can't force the issue;
thanx to everyone for your answers,

That is correct. In order to use you XP SP1 CD you will have to first
uninstall SP2.
If you are using a retail version of XP SP1 then you can Slipstream SP2 and
create a disk, if you have a CD burner.

Ok then, I will uninstall sp2; I noticed I can download it at windows
update site and I have sp1 on a cd here as well...... so will get down to
basics again and try full restore and hopefully regain my help and support
files.... thanx again for your help!
